As a constant f/2.8 lens, it provides consistent brightness throughout the 16mm–50mm zoom range. It is designed for Nikon DX-format (APS-C) cameras such as the Z50 II, Z fc, and Z30, but can also be used on Nikon full-frame (FX-format) cameras in DX Crop mode.
The built-in Vibration Reduction (VR) system offers up to 5 stops of stabilization, enabling sharper handheld shots in low light. For fast and silent autofocus, the lens uses a stepping motor (STM), making it ideal for both stills and video.
